The Pulse 3/4

Welcome to this March 4, 2021, issue of the FPC PULSE!

Communication Team:

Tim Edris, Malcolm Miller, Mindy Ott, Kathryn Shearer, and Marilyn Vinch

Greetings:

Happy sunny week to all:

What a blessing it is to wake up to sunny days this week!  What a mood lifter!  Although we love to complain about the cloudy weather here in Pennsylvania, maybe we are more appreciative of the sunny days because we also know the cloudy ones.  Hummmmmmm, that reminds me of something from the Book of Job!

This week our sermon series is:

Riding the Storm Out – How the storms of life affect our relationships

Week Three: ‘til Death Do Us Part

We will listen to the story of Job’s marriage and consider how his struggles affected it.  Certainly, all of the losses suffered by Job were painful losses for his wife as well.  Both parents mourned the loss of their children, to be sure.  But through it all, Mrs. Job stuck around, and in the end, participated in the happy ending that I will give away this week.  (Spoiler alert!)  Folks who have been married a long time in our church know that long marriages come with lots of hard times, but with lots of good times as well.  Sometimes waiting through the clouds will bring us sunny days.

At Beaver Falls, we will welcome Macy one last time as she shares her musical talents with us in a classic Carole King standard.  Please make some time to join us in worship!

See you there,

Pastor Emily

2021 ANNUAL CONGREGATION & CORPORATION MEETING

A CHRISTIAN EDUCATION OPPORTUNITY:  THE CHOSEN

Come join us for a Covid 19 friendly watch party of the acclaimed Series The Chosen on Zoom every Thursday until March 25th (the end of the first season).  This is a great way to join in fellowship and growth from the comfort of your own home.  All you need is highspeed internet connection and the ability to connect to a zoom meeting (no cost to you.)  You don’t have to commit to the whole series.  Join us when you can.

If interested, please contact Tim Edris at time@eli-leader.com and let him know to put you on the watch list.  There will be a short discussion for those that want each episode to hear what people are encountering as they watch.

menstudyTHEY’RE BACK!  All men are invited to the monthly Men’s Breakfast and Bible Study Saturday, March 13, at 8:00 a.m.  Because of the Covid restrictions we will not be meeting at a local restaurant, but in our own dining room here at the church.   Chefs Jack Kincade and Larry Ott will be making breakfast for us and we will be studying His word.
